                        SSAB′s comprehensive range of cold-formed open steel sections includes extremely varied possibilities for both steel grades (up to S900) and shapes. A steel and shape exactly matching the application provides significant weight and cost savings. Each unit of weight saved will offer direct benefits in transportation and in the lighter weight of structures. Our cold-formed open sections are made according to EN 10162.

                        Strenx Sections

                        Strenx is one of the most advanced high-strength, high-performance steels in the world. Cold-formed open section helps you get the most out of its? strength. Strenx sections are available with steel grades S650, S700 and S900.

                        Typical applications for Strenx sections include demanding load-bearing structures, for example in the lifting, handling and transportation sectors.

                        Strenx sections feature good weldability, including corner region, and are suitable for thermal cutting and can be sawed and machined with regular tools.

                        In addition to standard section shapes, we can also deliver sections tailored to your specific needs using the most suitable materials for the application. Tailoring section properties to your needs can give your end product a significant competitive edge and boost your production efficiency.

                        The choice of steel section shapes is endless. We can produce thousands of different shapes, delivered laser cut, sand blasted, painted, hot-dip galvanized or zinc coated. Material is available up to 12.5 mm thickness in lengths varying from 0.4 m to 21 m.

                        This U-section series has been developed with same outside dimensions as UNP-beams so that replacing hot-rolled beams is easier. Thickness is selected so that cold-formed U-section has the same bending strength but it weighs less. Weight saving has been achieved by using higher strength steel grade.
